title/rank/status

hi!
last week, i went to see a movie called "the impossible" with my bestfriend. the movie was FANTASTIC! and it was her treat! (thanks a lot). i rarely went for a movie. the last movie i saw was "Wrath of the Titans" and i regretted paying my own money to see the movie...the last time i went to see a movie with her was like 5 years ago and i was glad that we watched the movie together. ahhh..how i missed the days when we got to spend our days together everyday..
anyways, she told her story where she met with someone that has a high status in the country and during that time, she didn't know that he is a 'someone'. so, instead calling her dato', she called her tuan. the 'someone' put on his dislike face and tried to ignore my friend. she asked a friend, then the friend told her that he is someone with a status. so after that, she addressed him accordingly, and he treated her kindly..
i hate people that thinks that status is is very important. i recently finished my psychiatric posting and i'm right about this:

what is narcissist? narcissist is a person that love himself excessively. well, if a person doesn't fulfill 5 or more criteria above, he doesn't have a DISORDER but a narcissistic TRAIT instead..
so,from the criteria above, the person who has high status in my friend's story fulfill some of the criteria:
1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance
4. requires excessive admiration
5. has a sense of entitlement
and
9. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitude

i once encountered a man in my brother's school ceremony. the announcer called a man..someone's father, "Mr Ismail b Abu"..then, this Mr Ismail stood up and said "HAJI! haji Ismail" with an angry face..i was like, hello....there was no "HAJI" written on your birth certificate/your identification card/ most importantly ON YOUR FOREHEAD!! there's no way in the world that we know whether you're a haji/dato'/tan sri/dr...and why is putting a title in front of your name is so important and not pronouncing the title together with your name makes it a big mistake..to me, its like announcing to the world "hey! i'm narcissist!"

p/s- but calling people grandma eventhough she is not old, or call pakcik to a high status man when you know it(and he knows that you knew) to offend him is very rude!!

so people, be kind to all. its not hard.
